CVR(T) - Upgrade and Support

OVIK has a unique CVR(T) support and upgrade capability. From supply of original spares to development of CVR(T) based concept vehicles like MEERKAT - OVIK has the expertise, knowledge and experience to provide a fully comprehensive CVR(T) support, upgrade and development service.

DIESELISATION

The vast majority of CVR(T) were produced with a Jaguar J60 4.2 lt petrol power plant. On the modern battlefield petrol is less than desirable due both to its volatile nature and to modern defence logistics which normally dictate a single fuel (Diesel) policy for all vehicles and plant.

OVIK is one of only two companies worldwide to have successfully re-engined CVR(T) with a Cummins diesel powerplant. From 4.5lt to 5.9lt and up to 6.7lt, OVIK can re-engine CVR(T) according to customer requirements. Developed to beyond UK MoD standard the OVIK dieselisation package is cost effective and extremely reliable.

At OVIK we have, arguably, the largest collection of original CVR(T) spares anywhere in the world. Warehousing of over 36,000sq feet (3,600 sq metres) containing everything from a light bulb to full SCORPION turrets, from brand new (still boxed) J60 engines, David Brown gearboxes (TN series - most variants) to track and running gear. If we don't have the item in stock we can usually manufacture an identical part or we know which of the myriad suppliers holds the drawings and manufacturing capability to produce new parts.

Most of the other CVR(T) spares suppliers come to us for stock.

END USERS versus AGENTS - the OVIK Supply Policy

Please note: Where possible we prefer to deal with the end-user direct. In certain circumstances however, we will work through in-country agents if they can prove their legitimacy and if they have a history of supplying items direct to the customer; also of course - if working through an agent is how the end-customer wishes to operate.

OVIK aims to cut through the complex chains of middlemen and agents. If necessary, we will work though an agent - provided we have proof that they have DIRECT contact to the end user / customer.

Every link or agent in a supply / procurement chain adds a percentage margin which, ultimately increases the price of basic spares to such a degree as to make CVR(T) fleet support unaffordable and unworkable for the end-user.

Over the decades CVR(T) spares supply has been plagued by a raft of inexperienced middle-men trying to make a quick buck by getting involved in a subject they have little or no knowledge of and who lack even a basic understanding of the customers' real requirements or needs. This spares provision 'system' has helped contribute to the steady decline of CVR(T) fleets worldwide.

We are not a 'supply and forget' company. At OVIK we prefer to build long-term partnerships with our customers, assisting with advice and support wherever we can and throughout the life of the platform or system. By working with us our customers benefit from over a hundred years of cumulative front-line technical and operational experience of working with CVR(T). In many instances we assist our customers to regain fleet effectiveness - not just by selling spares - but by offering a more comprehensive integrated logistics support service.  Often, through consultation and advice we save our customers significant sums of money by offering alternative solutions to achieve fleet operational capability.

We always acquire the correct export licenses and End User Certifcates.  We follow UKTI guidelines and adhere strictly to UK and customers' national anti-bribery and corruption rules.
