OVIK is primarily a design, prototyping and test house. On the manufacturing side of the business our speciality is the ability rapidly to produce working prototypes. In order to achieve this we maintain a small, experienced and highly professional team of designers, engineers, mechanics and fabricators / coachbuilders / welders. This helps us to keep our overheads down; savings we pass on to our customers - helping us maintain an extremely competitive edge.
Whether it's a project designed and manufactured from the ground up, a modification, an upgrade or integration of specialist equipment, OVIK will be able to provide you with a rapid feasibility assessment and accurate costings.

Capability & Standards
Standards - Skills - Training
The defence and emergency sectors in particular, demand extremely high standards of engineering. Full technical and materials compliance along with ISO certified systems ensure that OVIK and our suppliers work to well defined and auditable standards across all engineering disciplines and all products.
Multiple Skills - Extensive Tooling
Within OVIK and our wider partner community we have access to an enormous range of skills, crafts and technologies. From coded armour welding, to composite manufacture, from vehicle electronics to hydraulics and systems integration, from vehicle environmental control systems to armourers and gun fitters. Whatever the requirement, OVIK can access the necessary skills, discipline or technology to bring new products to life.
Moreover, we have access to a vast range of specialist tooling from high tech welding equipment, state of the art paintshops and surface treatment facilities, composite manufacturing with 5-axis CNC tools for mould production and autoclaves for armouring compound shapes and CNC plasma cutters, water jet and laser cutters, CNC press brakes up to 1000 tonne press capability, machine shops and upholsterers.
Between OVIK and our partners we can carry out virtually any process on any product or material.
Engineering and Supply Standards and Quality Assurance
The OVIK industrial community, which comprises all of our partners and sub-contractors are bound by common standards of quality of manufacture and product quality assurance. Through OVIK's own ISO 9001 accreditation we ensure that the full component and services supply chain is ISO 9001 compliant.

Between us and our trusted partners and sub contractors we can work in pretty much any material; from aluminium to armoured steel, from composite to ceramics or any combination of materials to give the best possible performance / cost ratio.
Engineering Skills
At OVIK our engineering skills come with a proven track record; our core vehicle range being testament to our knowledge of specialist vehicle design and manufacture.We take customers' requirements forward into manufacture by first developing the concept through concept visualisation techniques. Once we have a clear idea of what it is we're trying to achieve we then have two very clear and distinct ways forward. Full CAD design prior to prototyping or 'rapid prototyping'.

Electrical and Capability Integration
We have the skills and capability to carry out full integration of electrical equipment to existing vehicles either as part of an upgrade or as part of a conversion.
Installation of emergency lighting, sirens, interior lights etc to police or emergency vehicles are all in a day's work for the OVIK team.
We can also integrate systems such as cherry pickers, scissor lifts, cranes etc to any suitable base vehicle as required.
INTEGRATION
OVIK Specialise in integration of electrical, hydraulic and specialist equipment onto commercial chassis. Installations are designed followed by initial prototype work to ensure capability and legislative compliance. Where type approvals are required (an increasingly common requirement) OVIK can handle the full type approval process from initial design, through installation and subsequent liaison with the VCA / VOSA to acheive type approvals certification.

INTEGRATION - CASE STUDY
The Mercedes Benz ZETROS chassis cab upgraded with the integration of a drop-side body and a 3 tonne hydraulic crane system.
The Mercedes ZETROS is a hugely versatile vehicle. With a significant payload and virtually unrivalled off-road mobility it is the perfect tool for operations in difficult terrain. The integration of a drop-side body and 3 tonne hydraulic crane adds further capability and value to an already exceptional vehicle.
OVIK can design, manufacture and integrate pretty much any body onto any commercial vehicle along with all the attendant electronics and systems as required.
