OVIK and CONRICO team to Deliver Humanitarian / NGO Capability (December 2011)
OVIK is proud to be working in partnership with CONRICO International to design, develop and build a range of specialist vehicles for the NGO and humanitarian sectors - based upon the extremely versatile TATA Xenon Chassis. CONRICO - Global distributors of TATA vehicles have engaged OVIK to produce a range of concept vehicles and feasibility studies. OVIK has responded by producing a range of specialist concepts with broad utility across the NGO sector.
The Ex-POD, RIDGEBACK and GOLIATH systems all seek significantly to increase the utility of the TATA XENON chassis cab or pickup. OVIK will be prototyping these systems in the new year.
See the OVIK Vehicles page of this site to view other TATA based systems for the defence and commercial sectors.
SNATCH Landrover Recycle Programme (November 2011)
The UK MOD SNATCH DEFENDER fleet is being disposed of. Many of the unfairly maligned SNATCH vehicles have now reached the end of their useful life; many have endured years operating in the harsh conditions of Iraq and Afghanistan.
Following OVIK's success designing, building and then delivering 60 of its PANGOLIN Armoured Public Order vehicles to the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) and in the wake of last summer's riots in the UK, we were approached by a number of UK police forces to scope the possibility of re-cycling former British Army (UK MOD) SNATCH Land Rovers into cost effective Public Order Vehicles.
Following, in some cases, up to twenty years of hard labour, the average 'end of life' SNATCH is usually in a pretty sorry state. OVIK selects vehicles for upgrade as carefully as possible but, inevitably a full refurbishment and upgrade to PHOENIX standard takes up to 340 man hours to complete. In addition to a full engine and transmission re-life OVIK significantly upgrades all brakes and suspension in line with the VSAG 08 and 13H compliant systems on PANGOLIN. The handling and overall performance of the old V8 DEFENDER is transformed. OVIK adds a full 'public order' body kit including hardening of all doors, wings bonnet etc. The vehicle is painted in fire resistant paint and internal and external fire suppression systems are integrated to dampen the effects from direct petrol bomb attack. Finally OVIK installs a suite of attack protected emergency /police lighting and a siren system before installing the police tactical radio system. Result... a highly cost-effective public order vehicle and arguably one of the most purposeful looking DEFENDERS ever produced.

TRACK Diesel Debut at NEC Motorcycle Live Expo - (October 2010)
Having been appointed as sole UK importer and distributor for the TRACK T800CDi Diesel Motorcycle in September 2011 - OVIK took the opportunity to make a splash within the motorcycle retail arena by taking a stand at the Motorcycle Live Exhibition 2011 at the NEC in Birmingham. Somewhat last minute the stand came together beautifully with three bikes on show. One standard production Black Edition - one bike in full police livery repleat with blue flashing lights and full pannier kit and a third, stripped-down, semi-built bike exposing the Daimler Benz engine, trellis frame and CVT transmission. Over 112,000 people visited the show over the full nine days with, we estimate, about 14,500 visitors to the OVIK / TRACK stand.
World's ONLY Production Diesel Bike
OVIK Group has recently been appointed as exclusive UK distributors of the TRACK T800-CDI, the world’s only modern production diesel powered motorcycle. The TRACK T800CDi is a new and totally unique motorcycle, developed over a period of six years under the design and manufacturing supervision of TRACK founder and CEO, Erik Vegt. The three cylinder, common rail, turbo diesel engine, constantly variable transmission (CVT) and shaft drive combine to ensure that the TRACK stands out as a peerless engineering achievement delivering a distinctive, relaxed riding experience, complemented perfectly by the bike’s outstanding, contemporary styling.

CAMELEON Film Production - By OVIKOM (June 2010)
In June 2010 OVIKOM (an OVIK Group company - www.ovikom.com) took on the mantle of producing the first product video for CAMELEON. Having the in-house production team working on the video proved extemely effective and efficient. We all knew what we needed the video to achieve and Claudia Riccio (OVIKOM Production Manager) and her team simply got on with the task - assisted by the OVIK trials and test drivers and a section of professional troops, courtesy of UK Trade and Industry Defence and Security Organisation (UKTI DSO).
The Team de-camped to one of our favourite locations for the shoot; a mere ten minutes away. The idea was to try to film the vehicle in a landscape that captured the essence and aesthetic of some of the contemporary theatres of war.
In spite of the dreadful weather conditions the 2 day shoot has produced an excellent video representation of the IVECO based CAMELEON system (IV440) operating in a defence scenario in severe off-road conditions. If anything, the stormy skies and storm conditions added somewhat to the overall mood of the video. OVIKOM went to town on the graphics package - adding an excellent overlay to the film in order to reinfoce key messages and to help depict the CAMELEON's true modular nature.
